DSO Interview

Image
The picture seems to be accurate in describing the situation: Oh well, if I don't get the interview, then it means I don't have the capabilities, nothing I can do about it. For a moment, I was wondering if choosing a MATH route is a dead end for a career path, I am just hoping it's not... =/ Anyways, here comes the holidays! ^_^

Y3S1 double finals OVER

Yeah, double. The 23rd of November has finally ended, on a sad note~ It's goodbye, and hopefully farewell to complex analysis. Let the 2nd half of the finals begin~ Stochastic and Python~

The noodle lunch with underfame

Good evening! Now is 10.30 pm, I am writing today's outing with Underfame. =) We had lunch at EwF. I ate the satay burger which is delicious! But, there is not much sauce and it isn't very sweet. I still like the egg burger, that is very delicious. ^^ We then visited the National museum. The exhibits inside are displaying about WW2 and Singapore's independence. After we exit, we saw a newlywed couple taking their wedding photos. Congratulations! =D From the museum, we went to the Popular beside the National Library which is big. I bought a gift for SH, I hope she will like it. ^^ We then went to the Library to borrow a Malay book. For dinner, we ate at Menya Musashi at Bugis Junction Shopping Center. We both ordered tsukemen noodles which is very delicious. Underfame had red soup, while I had white soup. They gave us hot tea, which was free. :) After dinner, I wrapped the gift, and it turned out nice. =) Before going home, we drank Koi at Buona Vista MRT station. I

Random post Week 5 in Y3S1

Today's MATLAB is extremely busy, I think a lot of Year 1s are very blur like me in functions XP It's week 5, a couple more weeks to midterms and stuff. My aim of getting at least B+ for everything continues. :) Currently I rate the courses like this (most difficult to easiest) Complex Analysis (It's too complicated) Malay Level 1 (Saya tidak suka!) Stochastic Processes (The difficulty level goes like a random walk) Cryptography (Hopefully the difficulty level doesn't chain like a CBC) Digital Logic (2 complement FTW!) Python (Yay ^^) Ok, jiayou!

A night before Y3S1 starts

Tomorrow is the 1st day of Y3S1 for me~! This semester... - I will work harder! Cannot slack so much like Y2S2. =P - Learn Malay Level 1 properly and S/U it. XD - Be a good MATLAB TA (that teaches stuff), and try to be different from the TAs which SH described (terribly). - Be as accurate as possible in transcribing Stochastic lectures. :) - Aim at least B+ for everything!! ~~~ Ok. That sounds like a lot of stuff, hope I can survive!

Sudoku solver completed!

Alright, my own MATLAB version sudoku solver has been completed! Haven't met any serious bugs yet, it seems to be able to work with normal 3x3 sudokus, tested with 3 evil Sudokus from websudoku.com :) Shall consider adding the X version in future too! ~~~~~~ I think WL likes his gift. Happy belated birthday WL! =P

URECA, the log

Image
The jellyfish is back! This is a URECA log. =================================== 26/8, Tue: Jeff accepted the URECA project. Awesome! I am officially a URECA undergraduate! ===================================== 1/9, Mon: Borrowed the Mean Sea Level book. Never thought I would have to touch Geog again. Here goes, reading the book!  ===================================== 15/10, Wed: The 1-hour URECA workshop on how to find info better. Wow. Apparently NTU online library catalogue has more things than can be imagined. Interesting. ----------------- 19/10, Sun: I am halfway done through the MSL book! Random hours looking through the first few chapters and summarising. @_@ Must be around 2h30m - 3h per chapter... 4 down! Hopefully there exists some understanding! I think this is where I learnt that books borrowed from NTU library can be renewed online. Cool! ----------------- 7/11, Fri: Chapter 5 is damn cheem. 1.5 hours reading

Hunt for WL 23rd present

Gelato Cottage final day

Dear blog, SH and I visited Gelato Cottage on 29th June 2015, that was the final time in POMO. Sadly, there wasn't any more cottage pie, so SH ate the spaghetti. I still had waffles though! The 2 smoked sausage was quite decent, along with 1 fried egg, and their waffles with butter and syrup. While we were eating, a lot of visitors came, and all were like wishing Gelato Cottage good luck. The shop lady was quite nice, she gave some sour sweets to them, and also gave us some too! As the last flavour, I had the rum and raisin flavour. SH had the durian one. That was very nice. We even had a 50% discount for the rum and raisin flavour. :) A nice place to chill, is gone, closed. Farewell Gelato Cottage, I will miss the times when I have been there. :)

DSO Info divison tKF trip

Image
The jellyfish is back! Here is a short memory about the visit to the DSO techKNOWfair. Quite a memorable and insightful trip, and of course SH accompanied me to go, wahaha. No pictures taken though, since the information may be sensitive. =P The link below introduces some of the divisions in DSO. We went for the Information divisions fair. :) https://www.dso.org.sg/divisions.aspx ---------------------------------------------- 27th May 2015, Wednesday, 1450hrs. Unlike the other boring industrial park, Science Park looks quite decent! Plants everywhere (and nicely decorated) even with the presence with a large number of buildings. DSO welcomes the visitors with an open carpark, and a normal looking fountain at the middle of the open area. -- The inside looks like a really busy place, and sure it is! Staff everywhere preparing for the fair, people coming in and out with business related matters, while me and SH are standing there keeping calm and looking busy. Not for long t

2014/15 NY Resolution

The jellyfish is back! Posting 2015 New Year's resolution at this date (End-Jan), because simply putting a resolution on End-Dec / Early-Jan is way too mainstream! XD Ok, once look and you know that isn't the real reason. It's just that there are too many things to do (URECA) and school starting on mid-Jan isn't helping much to the workload. At last, I finally have some time to reflect on the past year! =D  ========================================== 2014 has been a rather normal-year. Doesn't seem to be particularly interesting! Taking a look at the 2014 goals... 1. Maintaining GPA to be at least 4.2. (Achieved! Currently 4.65) 2. Clear RT and FT (O.O) 3. Get Patrick to score well (Didnt happen, but hey he passed) 4. Find a gf (Failed) 5. Get a decent job and not slack during the 12 week holiday (Er...!!!) Ok, that's just saying that the academics are there, but the non-academics are not there. Gotta balance up my life a bit! Ah, what
